Change IS Possible

How I Came to Practice Hypnosis

I come from a background rich in health care. Growing up in Hampton Bays, New York, the daughter of a nurse, I followed my mother into that field.

The longer I worked as a nurse, the more I came to see the interrelationship between the mind and body. At that time, this was often unacknowledged by many in the medical field. I found myself more and more interested in how psychological issues impact on health. This led me to pursue a Master's Degree in Social Work in order to assist others through psychiatric counseling.

In time, I became very interested in the power of hypnosis, particularly hypnotherapy. What impressed me was the capability to facilitate change very rapidly, empowering individuals to develop the abilities of their minds to effect and maintain these changes. I pursued advanced training in hypnosis with the American Institute of Hypnosis, National Guild of Hypnotists, Neuro-Energetics and ASCH (American Society of Clinical Hypnosis). Currently I am a member of ASCH. They are the leading professional organization for hypnosis in the country. In early 2007, I was certified by them.

After seven years of clinical social work at North Fork Counseling, Mattituck, New York, I began a private practice in hypnosis and psychotherapy, in East Quogue and Greenport. The following year, I opened a third office in Manhattan.

Presently, my offices are in East Quogue and Southold.
I conduct individual and group sessions with people dissatisfied with various aspects of their lives. These include; weight loss issues, smoking, stress, pain management, preparation for surgery, anxieties and phobias. Many of my clients have been referred by area physicians.
